POSITION SUMMARY :

We are seeking a Korean Cook with experience in authentic Korean cuisine to join our culinary team in a nursing home setting. The Korean Cook may prepare and cook traditional Korean dishes in accordance with residents' preferences, dietary needs, and physician orders. This role is essential in helping us provide culturally sensitive and comforting meals to our Korean-speaking residents.

You will follow recipes, maintain kitchen sanitation, and help lead the dietary team in the absence of the Food Service Director and Assistant Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Ensures food is handled and stored safely, following all sanitation regulations.

Follows daily and weekly meal schedules.

Avoids food waste by properly managing ingredients and portions.

Maintains cleanliness of equipment, utensils, and kitchen areas.

Adheres to resident-specific menus and special diet needs (low sodium, diabetic, etc.).

Communicates effectively with the Food Service Director and team.

Works harmoniously with fellow kitchen and facility staff.

Provides residents with warm, compassionate service that respects cultural traditions.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS :

Education / Experience :

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience in institutional or healthcare food service preferred

Strong background in Korean cooking is needed

Skills / Abilities :

Ability to read, write, and follow directions in English (Korean language skills a plus)

Knowledge of Korean cooking methods and ingredients

Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety practices

Ability to adapt menus and techniques for dietary restrictions

Ability to perform basic arithmetic

Must pass annual TB test and health screenings

Basic computer skills helpful
