Position Summary:
Cooks will use their culinary skills and creativity to prepare various dishes to provide an exceptional dining experience for our guests. They will create and follow recipes with precision while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and cleanliness. They will also be collaborating with fellow kitchen staff on food preparation, as well as communicating with bar staff on any pertinent kitchen information.
Cooks will be responsible for the cleanliness of their workstation, equipment, dishes, and serving utensils. They will also present the food to the guest offering an in-depth description as needed/as possible. As time permits, cooks will also be tasked with working with the Kitchen Manager on cocktail preparation.
Qualifications:
- Culinary Experience: Previous experience working as a cook or line cook in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred.
- Culinary Skills: Strong cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques, including grilling, sauteing, frying, and knife skills.
- Team Player: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability: Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and demands during busy service periods.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding food safety and sanitation principles, focusing on proper food handling and storage practices.
- Flexibility: The willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's demands.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to bend at the waist.
- Ability to kneel, squat, twist, and reach above shoulder.
- Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform cleaning functions including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, etc.
Compensation: Hourly ($17.00)
