Job Summary:

This position manages the daily operations of The Farm kitchen, with a strong focus safety, profitable food service, and guest satisfaction. The Farm Chef will oversee this position, along with the Hospitality F&B Executive Chef. Together this management group will work to ensure that the staff and kitchen environment are meeting/exceeding the expectations of Vail's brand standards, as well as safety standards.

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $52,000.00 - $60,905.42

  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2025/2026

  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available

  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Lead cooks and kitchen personnel; coordinates their assignments to ensure economical & timely food production; Monitors the line and creates a strong team relationship

  • Commands a strong safety culture within the team

  • Manages the human resource, financial and administrative responsibilities as they pertain to his/her direct reports.

  • Executes menus in conjunction with the Hospitality F&B Executive Chef; trains team on corresponding recipes and oversees the preparation of those recipes

  • Observes methods of food preparation cooking and service; sizes of portions and garnishing of foods to make sure food is prepared in prescribed manner; tastes food as prepared to ensure quality; expedites line during peak meal periods

  • Accurately schedules staff to business level based on forecast

  • Accurately produces daily reports and conducts self audits; holds and documents daily pre-shift meetings

  • Order and maintain inventory control of Restaurant kitchen products

  • Conducts monthly kitchen self-audits for adherence to Brand Standards and dept of Health

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required/Bachelor's Degree Preferred

  • Minimum 5 years restaurant experience required

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required

  • Strong Skills Required; Purchasing software, MS office suite, POS experience

  • English proficiency, Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

  • TIPS certification & Utah Food Handler's Card required within 14 days of employment

  • A combination of practical experience and education will be considered

The expected pay range is $52,000.00 - $60,905.42. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
