And it wouldn’t be Proper without a 5th floor pool deck offering small-batch tequilas and sunset views.

A new, intimate tasting menu restaurant is set to open at Austin Proper Hotel later this year. This chef-driven project will focus on precision and storytelling through food, offering a highly personalized and immersive dining experience. The culinary team brings international acclaim, and a philosophy rooted in discipline, creativity, and innovation. The concept will be rooted in French and Japanese styles.

About the Role:

As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in our culinary team, ensuring that high-quality meals are prepared and served to our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to create delicious and visually appealing dishes that meet our restaurant's standards and customer expectations. You will collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow and uphold food safety and sanitation standards. This position requires creativity and attention to detail, as you will be involved in menu planning and recipe development. Ultimately, your contributions will enhance the dining experience and help establish our establishment as a premier destination in Miami.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in a high-volume kitchen or fine dining establishment.
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques and cuisines.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and assist in training new staff.
