Job DetailsVeselka Commissary is seeking full-time production cooks.
DESCRIPTION:
The production cook is responsible for the large-scale, high-volume production recipes and products of Veselka Enterprises that service our 3 locations as well as our National Direct-to-Consumer shipping operation. Production cooks report to the production managers and are expected to work cleanly and efficiently while maintaining both in-house and NYCHD safety and sanitation guidelines as well as be organized, team players. Responsibilities include completing the daily tasks assigned by the kitchen supervisor, following recipe and procedural instructions according to our brand standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures food quality and standards are compliant and maintained by the company standards of excellence;
- Maintains the sufficient pars of responsible dishes needed for inventory of all three locations and national shipping;
- Maintains safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas and food prep items;
- Assists the Executive Chef in new recipe development and/or revisions of existing recipes;
- Supports the Executive Chef and kitchen supervisors by being compliant and flexible to the needs and demands of the business including but not limited to the execution of catering jobs and additional outside events;
- Supporting revenue and costing initiatives by helping to track labor hours and cost of goods figures;
- Ensures that all kitchen operational duties are fulfilled on a daily basis in a timely and efficient manner;
- Follows proper kitchen/facility opening and closing procedures
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 50lbs and work on ones feet for an extended period of time;
- Experience in the hospitality industry with a background in food service;
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects at once;
- Strong communication skills working in a team environment;
- Accountability for order accuracy and timeliness;
- NYC DOH food handlers permit card and/or ServSafe is a plus
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $22.00)
