General Overview:
A Grill Cook prepares and cooks grilled items to order, maintains proper food safety standards, ensures quality and consistency, and coordinates with the kitchen team for smooth service.
General Duties & Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook meats, and other items on the grill.
- Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized grill station.
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Set up and stock the grill station with necessary supplies.
- Monitor grill temperatures and adjust as needed.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Check food quality before serving.
- Assist with prep work and other kitchen tasks as needed.
- Follow all kitchen safety procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant, cafe, or hotel
- Familiarity with various cooking methods such as grilling, baking, and boiling.
- Familiarity with ingredients, different types of equipment and procedures
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- DOH certificate/ license preferred.
- Passion for food and cooking with desire to learn and grow culinary skills.
- Strong attention to detail especially regarding food quality, presentation, and kitchen cleanliness
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items such as pots, pans, bulk food items.
- Ability to work in a hot or humid environment at certain times.
- Ability to frequently move around the kitchen including reaching and bending.
