Job Details We are looking for motivated and skilled cooks to join our opening team at Little Grand! We are a new, casual sophisticated restaurant in Williamsburg. The menu is inspired by New American and coastal-European styles of cuisine, accompanied by a strong cocktail, wine, and beer program. Emphasis on fresh seafood, poultry, and meats, seasonal and local produce, and a high-level of execution. Looking for all levels of experience, this is a unique opportunity to grow with a new, exciting, and high-end neighborhood restaurant.Duties:
- Working cold and hot stations in the kitchen to prepare food items
- Accurately handling food items to meet sanitation requirements and minimize waste
- Ability to learn, understand, and to execute daily recipes and menus
- Preparing mise en place for daily service
- Taking part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties
- Demonstrating a passion for details and a willingness to learn
- Maintaining a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- 1 year culinary experience preferred
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and knife handling
- Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Lift up to 50 pounds of weight
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, carry multiple objects
- Ability to work in an environment with hot and cold conditions
Compensation: Hourly ($18.00 - $22.00)
