Education and Experience
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions and making suggestions.
- Prepare foods according to the food temperature logs and follow instructions.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers requests.
- Promote trust among Cafe Associates and customers.
- Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered in the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
- Use all equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and slicers according to Boars Head Brand guidelines.
- Check product quality to ensure freshness, review sell by date,s and take appropriate action.
- Maintains a clean working environment, following all sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained, and temperature logs are maintained.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate management of any items in need of repair.
- Label, stock and inventory merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to management.
- Display a positive attitude and sense of urgency.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of related deli or cafe experience, 1+ years of slicing experience
- ServSafe certification required
- Product knowledge, including species, flavor profile, product handling, slicing technique, and scale operation
- Excellent customer service, organizational,and multi-tasking skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities
- Ability to handle stressful situations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of working in a commercial kitchen
