Description
National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a nonprofit substance abuse facility in Arlington, VA is looking for a part-time weekend cook to help prepare meals for our Adult Men's Residential Program. This position is hourly, with a schedule of Full-Time (Tuesday-Saturday) 10am-6pm
Pay rate: $20-$25/ hour- with an opportunity to earn more based on experience and other relevant qualifications
As a Weekend Cook you will prepare and serve approximately 200 meals per day to our clients according to established methods and procedures while maintaining high standards of food preparation and service with an emphasis on maintaining the salad bar, menu appeal, maximum nutritional value and high standards of sanitation and safety. This is a full-time role and the hours are (Tuesday-Saturday) 10am-6pm- serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate in health and sanitation as required by the Arlington County Health Department
- Serve Safe Certification; Food Managers Certificate- ( REQUIRED )
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years experience in food service, including institutional food production
- Experience working in residential community
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to comply with state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality
- General computer knowledge and skills, including, but not limited to use of email and basic electronic timekeeping
- Verbal ability to read and understand written instructions, recipes and labels and written instructions, recipes and labels
