Job Overview
Shriners Spokane is looking for a full time Cook to join our team! The cook prepares and cooks food for patients, catering and the cafeteria. Complies with standard practices and regulatory guidelines to assure food is high quality and prepared in a safe manner.
Schedule: Full-time (in person)
FTE: 0.9
The pay range for this position is $16.77-$23.75/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Responsibilities
- Food Pre-Preparation and Cooking
- Ensures that patient allergies, diet orders and preferences are followed, obtains clarification from dietitian if needed
- Maintains a clean and organized kitchen and work spaces
- Maintains accurate records including patient meal counts, temperatures, and food amount prepared, food leftover
- Operates cash register proficiently
- Complies with food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Checks deliveries for quality and accuracy

Required
- Washington State Food Workers Permit
Preferred
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years Institutional Cooking
- 1 year Food Service
- ServSafe Food Safety Certificate
