5. Has a satisfactory report from both the BCI & FBI

REPORTS TO: Kitchen Manager

JOB GOAL: To provide an environment that supports healthy food habits while maintaining the school nutrition program integrity as well as student and staff satisfaction.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Student school schedule plus training days plus six (6) holidays (see JONATHAN ALDER LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT SALARY SCHEDULE - lunchroom employees). Daily work schedule as indicated on salary notice. Lunch is provided at no cost.

EVALUATION: One cumulative written evaluation per year by the Kitchen Manager presented to the Food Service Director, Principal and Superintendent.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

1. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.00 Follows the direction of the Kitchen Manager and Food Service Director

1.01 In the absence of the Kitchen Manager the Assistant Kitchen Manager completes the

responsibilities listed in the category under the Kitchen Manager job description

1.02 Prepares sandwiches, salads and other foods as needed

1.03 Assists with any job related to completing the meal for the day

1.04 Readies serving equipment

1.05 Serves food to students and staff in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth

1.06 Assists with washing dishes and cooking/serving equipment

1.07 Stores and puts all food, dishes, utensils and equipment in the proper place

1.08 Cleans up kitchen/serving area/cafeteria daily; assists with the annual cleaning of the area

1.09 Maintains an environment conducive to protecting the health and well-being of the

school’s students and staff through high levels of food safety and sanitation standards

1.10 Exercises safety precautions with equipment

1.11 Participates in fire, tornado and other safety drills

1.12 Performs other related duties to assist co-workers when a need arises. Occasionally rotates

job responsibilities with others in kitchen to better understand the position and also provide

variety in the job place

1.13 Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager, Food Service Director,

Principal or Superintendent

1.14 Treats students and staff as customers who look forward to coming to the cafeteria daily

1.15 Assists Kitchen Manager with inventory, ordering and reports as needed.

1.16 As needed will assist with the debit system; count and prepare bank deposits; maintain

records for the system and relay any problems of the debit system to Kitchen Manager or

Food Service Director
