Position Overview

Were seeking an experienced Line Cook with a strong foundation in French cuisine and a passion for classic, ingredient-driven cooking. This role is focused on executing our refined dinner service menu , which includes staples like steak au poivre, moules frites, confit, housemade sauces, and seasonal vegetable preparations.

The ideal candidate has worked in high-volume kitchens, can move fluidly across multiple stations, and understands the finesse behind traditional bistro-style cookery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to Cafe Stellas French recipes, standards, and plating guidelines

  • Work across various hot line stations including saute, grill, and garde manger

  • Maintain consistency in flavor, portion, and presentation throughout dinner service

  • Stay organized and clean in your station; follow all food safety and sanitation protocols

  • Assist with ingredient prep, station setup, and kitchen transitions before and during service

  • Move quickly, precisely, and calmly during peak hours

  • Collaborate with the chef and kitchen team to maintain smooth kitchen flow

  • Participate in end-of-night closing duties including breakdown, cleaning, and restocking

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a line cook in a high-volume, upscale restaurant

  • Strong working knowledge of French cuisine, techniques, and flavor profiles

  • Familiarity with sauce work, meat cookery, and traditional bistro plating

  • Ability to stay focused and efficient in a fast-paced environment

  • Positive attitude, teamwork-oriented, and professional communication

  • Culinary school education is a plus but not required

  • Food Handler Certification (required by start date)
