Cook 2 (PT - HUP Main)

Job Description:

AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic Cook 2 to join our culinary team at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, located at 3400 Spruce Street in University City, Philadelphia, PA. The Cook 2 is responsible for meal preparation, cooking and serving for patients and guests at the hospital.

Part time positions are available; now hiring for all shifts!

Pay begins at $19.49/hour; you will receive $0.50 increase after 6 months of employment and another $0.50 increase after 1 year of employment! • Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and hot catering meals
• Preparation of other food items directed by Chef or Manager
• Ability to read and produce basic recipes, with supervision, in accordance with company standards
• Follow all HACCP rules for food production / storage
• Ensure and maintain proper sanitation of the kitchen
• Use of proper portioning and dietary guidelines
• Assist in restocking and clean-up of the kitchen and serving line at the end of the service period
• Check out with shift supervisor 20 minutes prior to leaving each day
• Other duties as required and assigned

Requirements:

• Strong work ethic
• Eager and dedicated to learn and progress as a cook
• ServSafe certification is a plus
• Dedication to working safely in a busy environment
• Proven ability to work at a steady pace for a full eight-hour shift
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic food knowledge
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to maintain a high standard of personal hygiene
