Golden Diner is an intimate and welcoming Asian diner located in Manhattans Two Bridges. Contrary to your average diner, our restaurant has achieved national acclaim and recognition from the James Beard Foundation, New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, The New Yorker, Vogue, and Resy, to name a few. We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to help lead our BOH team.

Do You Have These Skills & Experience?
  • Knows how to lead and coach a team (2+ years of management-level experience)
  • Ensures safety, quality, and recipe accuracy
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all recipes, products, and production procedures
  • Manages the execution of all orders (regular service, take-out, delivery, catering, and events)
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with all team members during service
  • Has experience working on the line and understands setup and breakdown of stations
  • Possesses advanced knife skills
  • Experience with high volume
  • Participates in hiring and training new team members
  • Oversees weekly inventory including ordering, receiving, and re-stocking
  • Ensures all mechanical systems are in good working order and compliant with all federal, state, and local ordinances
  • Ensures the completion of all BOH opening and closing procedures
  • Ensures NYC DOH sanitation standards and food safety
  • Availability on weekends, holidays, and late nights (our restaurant closes at 10pm)
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds
