Job Details Cafe Triste is a wine bar in Chinatown, Los Angeles focused on natural wine and well sourced ingredients. We serve a full Cafe Menu nightly, with the menu rotating each week. Chef Hannah Chumley food that feels fresh and exciting, a mix of textures, flavors and bright pops. It is a small focused menu, cooked in a kitchen with just 2 induction burners and a toaster essentially, but what comes out are serious, focused dishes with a lot of spirit. Real food.Triste a fun and creative environment with open communication and no ego. Our style of service is more common abroad but unique in Los Angeles. We focus on a small team who all work together to create a really special and unique environment.
We are in search of one individual to work a full time schedule over 4 slightly longer days. This role will be working alongside Chef Hannah prepping, cooking, and executing the menu. However, the cooperative nature of Triste makes this a uniquely-dynamic opportunity for someone interested in engaging deeply with natural wine and service, in addition to the food program. Everyone is expected to chip in where needed, be that with dishes, food running, busing, or wine service. Ideal candidates are excellent communicators with solid foundations who think creatively, know how to problem solve, and are enthusiastic learners. This is a very visible role so composure is important as is a general sense of calm in a busy environment. An interest in learning about wine, going to the farmers market or experience cooking in restaurants where either was a focus is a plus. We want to find someone who can grow with us.
