Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepare ingredients according to standardized recipes, including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning.
Assist with cooking tasks such as grilling, frying, sauteing, and baking, as needed.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items.
Assist in assembling and plating dishes for both employee dining and sports bar menus.
Follow portion control and presentation standards.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
Adhere to all sanitation and food safety guidelines, including proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Assist in dishwashing and cleaning duties as required.
Work closely with cooks, servers, and other kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery.
Communicate effectively to address issues or special requests.
Provide support during peak hours and adapt to shifting priorities.
Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of knives and cooking equipment.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to uniform standards.
Participate in kitchen training sessions and team meetings.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in a kitchen or prep cook role preferred but not required; on-the-job training may be provided.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
Strong communication skills.
Strong food prep skills.
Basic knife skills.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment.
Knowledge of proper sanitary practices.
Able to read and follow recipes accurately.
Able to work efficiently and independently.
Highly self-motivated and dependable.
UNIVERSAL REQUIREMENTS
Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.
Regular attendance and punctuality.
Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel and encourage others to do the same.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Mobility throughout the facility.
Able to work under stressful conditions.
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Able to lift up to 35 pounds on a frequent basis.
