JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for considerate cooks who are excited, and preferably knowledgeable about, working with produce. We serve simple, elegantly rustic food that is based in traditional and ancestral cooking methods, inspired by many cultures and palettes, always rooted in the season. There are opportunities at the moment at a more entry level cook as well as for a seasoned player (who might want a leadership position?). We have some transitions happening on our team, and the structure of how we program our roles shifts a bit based on who we are working with.
We operate a bi-lingual / Spanglish kitchen, so Spanish language skills are a plus. Our line cooks are equal in the tip pool to the front of house employees, so the hourly typically ends up somewhere between $30 and $40 depending on your role and schedule.
While we certainly utilize plenty of classic kitchen management, we are a female-owned and operated kitchen that takes its leadership cues from a variety of methods. If you are someone who thrives or needs a very traditional environment, this kitchen might not be for you. If you are a curious cook who is confident in your enthusiasm for seasonal food - and ideally also your skills - who is self-motivated, yet a team player, and a hard worker, this might be an ideal fit.
