Kitchen Helper - Taqueria Location: McAllen, TX Job Type: Full-Time 40+ hours weekly Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dependable Kitchen Helper for a taqueria. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, kitchen maintenance, and support the cooks in delivering high-quality Mexican dishes in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist with basic food prep such as chopping vegetables, preparing tortillas, portioning meats, etc. Stock and restock ingredients, utensils, and supplies. Keep kitchen work areas clean and sanitized in accordance with health and safety standards. Wash dishes, cooking equipment, and utensils. Assist with unloading and organizing deliveries. Help assemble tacos, burritos, and other menu items as directed. Maintain a clean and organized prep area and storage spaces. Support line cooks and other kitchen staff during busy hours. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Qualifications: Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred but not required. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Good communication skills. Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
