Located in the heart of the West Village, Antons Cafe & Wine Bar is the first restaurant from Co-Owners Chef Nick Anderer and Beverage Director Natalie Johnson. Antons is a nostalgic New York Cafe and Wine Bar serving updated old-world cuisine with deep French, Italian, English and American influences. We're currently growing our team, and looking for a motivated Sous Chef with strong leadership intuition. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of full-service kitchen experience, must possess strong leadership skills, be focused and able to prioritize abundant and varied responsibilities, as well as demonstrate poise and an overall willingness to contribute to supporting and continuously training all team members. Applicants must have obtained their New York Food Handler's License, and be proficient in all Department of Health standards and practices. Proficiency in Spanish is preferred, though not required of the position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of kitchen operations
  • Maintenance of Department of Health Standards
  • Ordering
  • Inventory
  • Menu planning assistance
  • Service oversight & management
  • Personnel oversight, management, coaching & discipline when necessary
  • Food prep oversight & management
  • Expediting during busy services

The following are offered with the position:

  • Annual salary ranging between $70,000 and $85,000, based on experience
