The Frying Pan NYC is seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our dynamic team for the summer season! If you're tired of the same four walls and crave the energy of bustling NYC summers along the Hudson, this is your chance to shine.
The Frying Pan: a historic lightship turned bar and restaurant docked at Pier 66 on the Hudson River, offering stunning waterfront views. Known for its casual, lively atmosphere and classic American fare, making it a popular spot for summer drinks and sunsets!
Imagine: Leading a passionate team, crafting seasonal menus, and expediting services all while working in the heart of NYC's summer buzz.
Your Role:
* Expedite with Precision: Manage high-volume service, including experience expediting ensuring timely and accurate food delivery.
* Maintain 10-14 minute tickets times consistently
* Lead the Line: Ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations during peak hours.
* Inspire Creativity: Collaborate on menu development and special events.
* Mentor & Motivate: Train and guide kitchen staff, fostering a positive environment.
* Maintain Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of food quality and sanitation.
* Embrace the Season: Adapt to the unique challenges and rewards of seasonal cooking.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven expediting experience, including demonstrated ability to manage
* 3-5 years Proven experience (with references) as a Sous Chef or senior line cook in a fast-paced NYC restaurant
* Passion for seasonal cuisine and high-quality ingredients.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to maintain 10-14 minute "dupe" tickets times consistently.
* Ability to thrive under pressure, recover from a major food influx.overwhelming the kitchen within minutes
* Positive attitude and team-oriented spirit.
* NYC Food Protection Certificate (required).
* NYC Sexual Harassment training certificate
* Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and all holidays.
