Description
Carter Caves State Resort Park is seeking a experienced and reliable individual to join our kitchen team as a Cook II. This full-time position plays a vital role in our food service operation, helping to prepare and deliver quality meals to our guests in a beautiful park setting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for planning, preparing, and coordinating daily cooking and kitchen sanitation duties.
- Assist with buffet and banquet cooking, baking, specialty dishes, and therapeutic diets.
- Ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, calculating food costs.
- Ensuring all food preparation meets health and safety standards.
- Open and close kitchen operations and support our Food Service Operations Managers and Chefs with additional tasks as needed.
Applicants must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays. Employees may also be required to pass a background check and drug screening and may need to maintain a valid driver's license.
- This position is eligible for an approved Sign-on bonus of $800 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(6)
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: NONE
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of cooking experience in an institutional or large scale commercial setting.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Vocational training in food services will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
