About The Position: As a Team Member you will help us prepare and plate the delicious meals that we serve to our guests. At Hartville Kitchen, our guests come to enjoy a home-cooked meal. You will have the opportunity to play a very important role in that experience. You will be preparing entrees using fryers, steamers, and other kitchen equipment. Most importantly, you should be able to cook food according to all ServSafe food safety guidelines and cook meats to the proper temperatures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook dishes using fryers (including chicken fryers), steamers, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized cooking and prep areas.
  • Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistent quality.
  • Monitor cooking times, food temperatures, and equipment safety.
  • Plates food portions according to Hartville Kitchen procedures in a timely manner
  • Prepares, grills, and broils meats according to instructions.
  • Maintains appropriate amounts of food in holding bins as needed according to business demand.
  • Perform simple food preparation tasks such as making sandwiches.
  • Identifies, meat, poultry, fish, etc. when serving to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Stores food in designated areas, labeled with time and date on food in coolers.
  • Assists in prep, setup, and closing duties and as-needed cleaning at the end of the designated shift.
  • Support a team-oriented, family-style kitchen culture.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Previous experience using deep fryers, chicken fryers, and steamers is highly preferred.
  • Previous line cook or kitchen experience in a restaurant setting.
  • Must be available 11:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday)
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, timing, and food safety.
  • Serve Safe Certification a plus
  • Ability to stand constantly and the ability to lift /carry 10-20 lbs.
  • Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
  • Energetic - Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work.
  • Active Listening - Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.

Hartville Kitchen offers a great working atmosphere. Applicants must be available daytime, evenings, Saturdays, and some holidays. We are closed on Sundays and Wednesdays.
