A skilled kitchen brigade member is needed for Locals Restaurant in Courtenay. We are renowned for providing an outstanding dining experience using locally sourced, prime ingredients, with everything made from scratch, in house.

The successful applicant:

Is a skilled chef with formal training and /or significant industry experience
Is an enthusiastic team member and leads by example
Is passionate about cooking and is creative
Has an excellent eye for detail and has exemplary food safety skills
Comfortable when giving positive feedback and eager to mentor others
Has a calm demeanor, dealing well in a fast past, demanding work environment
As the hours of work can extend beyond public transportation service hours, you must have guarantee transportation.

$23.00-$25.00 per hour to start for the First Cook position, unless you are viably a Sous Chef, which is a salaried position.
Tip pool is an additional $2. - $4. per hour, depending on the week.
