Back of House Shift Leader

As one of our Back of House Shift Leaders, you are tasked with high responsibility to manage and lead the Back of House team during day-to-day operations and effectively lead shifts in the kitchen. You provide regular coaching and leadership, ensure team members are in the best positions to work effectively, create line-ups and run breaks, and monitor performance and operations, ensuring guests receive the high-quality and safe food products they have come to expect from us.

As a leader, you will receive hands-on support and development from your managers and genuine responsibility and business experience as you work and problem-solve together with other shift leaders to better improve guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scheduled Back of House team member and overall Back of House shift operations on each of your shifts
  • Prepare line-ups and effectively position team members, balancing development and meeting the needs of the shift
  • Coach and manage performance of team members on the shift, providing development and guidance as needed
  • Ensure Back of House operations run smoothly and effectively
  • Monitor and temp food products to ensure they meet food and quality expectations
  • Ensure team members maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the day
  • Ensure each shift is properly stocked and ready for the next shift
  • Manage schedule changes on your shift, anticipating needs and problem solving changes like call-outs
  • Monitor rotation of chicken thawing and food preparation
  • Communicate with other leaders such as the Front of House Shift Leads to ensure a cohesive shift and engaging environment for team members
  • Manage and assemble food products for catering orders
  • Meet regularly with leaders and team members to identify and problem-solve opportunities in the restaurant
  • Complete shift reports and track performance to ensure strong store and personal development results
  • Manage and submit waste as it occurs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven track record of pursing excellence in all you do and genuine care for others
  • Required availability Monday-Saturday for full-time roles (working an average of 33 hours or more) and preferred availability of at least 5 days for part-time. Shift hours can vary depending on availability but for morning shift, shifts generally fall somewhere between 5:00am-2:00pm and for night, between 2:00pm and 10:00pm (Note: our store hours of operation are from 6am-9pm)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (both inside and outside the store)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be able to work together with others, adaptable, and dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Strong background in food service/production, leadership experience or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to achieve strong results while also building positive relationships with others

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in ServSafe
  • Interest in leadership growth and/or restaurant management
  • Desire to grow further into leadership locally with Chick-fil-A Kahului and/or Chick-fil-A, Inc.
