Lead Cook Overview:
The Lead Cook is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all culinary operations within the hotel's kitchen, with a focus on both a la carte service and large banquet functions. This position plays a key leadership role within the culinary team, ensuring consistent food quality, operational efficiency, and excellent guest satisfaction. Ordering, preparing inventory and any food preparation needed will also fall to the Lead Cook. Must have a working knowledge of food sanitation, nutrition, and allergies cross contamination.
Responsibilities include :
- Manage and direct daily kitchen operations, including line service and banquet production.
Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and presentation to ensure creativity and consistency.
Lead, train, and support the culinary team, including recruiting and onboarding new team members.
Monitor inventory levels, place product orders, and maintain accurate food and supply inventories.
Prepare and execute food for large parties, banquets, and events as well as daily a la carte service.
Collaborate with the sales and events teams to coordinate banquet menus and service execution.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.
Forecast labor and food costs to assist with scheduling and budgeting.
Uphold and enforce all guest service standards and hotel policies.
Ensuring quality, consistency and creativity are at the highest level while maximizing the operation's personnel and resources.
The production and execution of banquets with emphasis on quality
Inventory and cost controls
Adherence to all food handling and sanitation standards
Must be able to pass a background check
