Ironwood Restaurant at the South Shore Country Club in Hingham is seeking passionate and dedicated Chef de Cuisine .
About the Role
As our Chef de Cuisine, youll be the heart of our kitchen. Youll lead our culinary team, help design seasonal menus, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure every plate sent out delights our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Training
- Mentor and guide sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen staff
- Be part of the line team, both cooking and expediting during service
- Model speed, accuracy and cleanliness
- Assist with hiring, training and developing staff
- Teach through demonstrating and coaching
- Be a calm and steady presence in the kitchen
Operations & Cost Management
- Maintain kitchen workflow, equipment, and food safety Manage inventory, food ordering, and vendor relationships
- Good planning and forecasting skills required
- Track food and labor costs to optimize profitability
Quality Control & Compliance
- Enforce rigorous food safety, sanitation, and health standards
- Inspect and approve dishes
Collaborative Leadership
- Coordinate with FOH, events, and management teams
- Integrate guest feedback and stay on top of culinary trends
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of progressive experience, including 2+ years in leadership (Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or similar)
- Experience in top Boston or other city restaurants key
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of kitchen systems, menu trends, and cost controls
- Passion for culinary excellence and creativity
