PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Sous Chef plays a vital role at the workplace by establishing and maintaining a smooth work system through establishing an organic relationship between employees and efficient personnel management.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

EDUCATION: Relevant bachelor's degree or higher preferred

EXPERIENCE: Cooking experience of 5 years or more

CREDENTIALS: Culinary certificate a must. Advanced culinary certificate preferred.

  • Must speak English fluent enough to be able to deal with customers and present menu
  • Must possess general knowledge of the food and culture of a given field
  • Must possess the ability and skills to create new menu items in keeping with the general trend
  • Must be a good communicator.
  • Must be able to manage personnel well.
  • Must show basic computer proficiency such as with MS Office
  • Must demonstrate an accurate understanding of how to calculate and manage cost
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of, and skills to use, kitchen facility, utility, equipment and kitchenware
  • Must know applicable laws regarding food safety and general kitchen operation
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
  • Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Creative, effective leader and team player, possessing a high degree of professionalism, sound human resources management principles, communication, administrative skills and the ability to make sound and timely business decisions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule: weekends, holidays, AM, PM, overnight and overtime when

needed.
