Job Description Summary: Responsible for the provision of nutrition services at Kobacker House. This includes preparation and delivery of patient meals in the in-patient unit and cleanliness/sanitation/ organization of all kitchens within Kobacker House. Ensures adherence to state regulatory and hospice standards, policies and procedures. Is responsible for ordering, stocking, and organization of medical supplies for the in-patient unit and home-care; and filling-out and following-up on work-orders to Facilities Engineering for Kobacker House repairs. Also monitors liquid oxygen supply and compressed oxygen for backup system. Responsibilities And Duties: 1. Prepares meals for in-patients, allowing for flexible eating schedules. Interacts with patients and families as necessary. 2. Maintains par levels on all food, cleaning supplies, etc. and needed to run a full service kitchen. Grocery shop for special items. Inventories, procures, and stores all food under required sanitary conditions. 3. Responsible for all patient food service cleanup; maintains equipment; keeps three kitchens clean and sanitary to meet Board of Health, JCAHO, and Department of Health regulations. 4. Prepares food for special events, sets up room, delivers food and assists in area cleanup. Helps staff setup and tear down rooms for meetings. 5. Submits and follows-up with work-orders for repairs. Assists with any interior/exterior Kobacker House related problem. 6. Orders, stocks and coordinates system for medical supply distribution for in-patient and home-care. 7. Performs other related duties as assigned which may include: working with volunteers to provide training and supervision as needed medical supply assistants and cook s . Monitors compressed oxygen tank levels weekly to ensure backup supply is available. Minimum Qualifications: High School or GED (Required) Additional Job Description: Field of Study: High school Years of experience: 0 SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE safe and sanitary food handling techniques. Comfort with Kobacker House environment, hospice philosophy and goals. Previous cooking Experience within a group or family setting.
