Our award-winning bakery in the LES is looking for our next Weirdough (a skilled and enthusiastic Baker) to join our tight-knit, and incredible team.
Get ready to mix (pun intended) your expertise (and Spotify playlist) with Supermoon-y flavors, unleash your creativity, learn as much as we can possibly teach you (we hope to learn a lot from you too) and bake (and sometimes fry) delicious things for our incredible customers (honestly the best people in the world, we genuinely LOVE them) to eat.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a bakery, specifically working with laminated doughs (please dont apply if you have never worked as a baker with at least three years under your apron - we wont respond and it will be a waste of both our time)
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and early mornings (including some 4am shifts; obviously, were a bakery)
- Must be based in NYC & be a United States Resident or Visa Holder (sorry we cannot sponsor international bakers who need a visa at this moment, hopefully soon we will be able to though!)
- Must care about the quality of their work (were proud of everything we put out, and we hope you are too)
- Must write the word heard in your intro paragraph (this is the first test, if you don't read a job description, you probably wont read recipes either)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must have experience in a high-volume bakery
- Ability to work cleanly, efficiently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Maintains a positive attitude and works effectively as a member of a team
- Ability to follow recipes and techniques
- Strong knowledge and experience of bakery principles
- Must hold a valid NYC Food Handlers Card, or be willing to obtain one
This Position:
This is a production and bake-focused position. We are looking for someone who has at least two years experience in viennoiserie to assist with lamination.
- Full Time position
- Production: Prepare and bake a variety of exceptional pastries, croissants, doughnuts, fillings, garnishes and unique baked goods.
- Tools: Utilize industrial kitchen equipment to mix, shape, and bake our delectable creations.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety regulations (its probably the cleanest kitchen you have ever worked in, and we plan to keep it that way).
- Vibe: Help create a positive and energetic bakery environment that uplifts our team and customers. Baking is not the easiest job, so lets try and make it fun for all.
- Support Head Chef and Sous Chef including contributing ideas and new products to monthly menus
