The Denver Hospice has an immediate need for a Cook at our Inpatient Care Center (ICC).

LOCATION: Denver, CO

STATUS: Full-time

SCHEDULE: Wed 1pm - 6:30pm; Thurs, Fri & Sat 7:30am - 6:30pm

PAY RANGE: $18.30 - $21.50

SUPPLEMENTAL PAY: Based on position, schedule and/or availability: Overtime

MILEAGE AND EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT: Sixty-two and a half cents per mile – one of the highest in the industry!

REWARDING WORK YOU WILL DO:

Coordinates and prepares quality food for patients.

  • Maintains accurate records of refrigerator/freezer temperatures and sanitation log.
  • Prepares nutritious and appealing meals to patients at the hospice facility, utilizing the principles of diet modification or restriction as needed, in consultation with the RD, nursing staff, patients and families about specific needs and special requests.
  • Organizes, prioritizes and coordinates all food preparation to meet production, distribution, and service demands for patients within established departmental guidelines.
  • Follows Food Service policies and procedures established by The Denver Hospice.
  • Stocks and maintains cleanliness of Family Kitchen/Dining area.
  • Maintains clean and sanitary food preparation area.
  • Monitors appliances and kitchen equipment for maintenance and/or replacement needs.
  • Adheres to food storage requirements including pantry, freezers, and refrigerator items.
  • Participates in quarterly kitchen inspections and safety training as required.
  • Follows deep cleaning schedule for kitchen.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE GOING TO LOVE ABOUT YOU:

  • Minimum Education: High school diploma
  • Minimum Experience: One year cooking experience
  • Required Certification: Must possess or obtain the Serv-Safe Certification within one month of employment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 30 lbs

The Denver Hospice is affiliated with Care Synergy, a nonprofit network of community-based hospice and palliative care organizations serving Colorado’s Front Range and the Region’s Largest Home Health, Hospice, and Palliative Care Network. Care Synergy provides mission support services to better equip The Denver Hospice to operate as a distinct and independent organization while working together to share best practices and serve more Coloradans along the Front Range.
