Qualifications
- Previous experience as Chef De Cuisine or Executive Sous Chef
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate efficiently with team
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work calmly and effectively in a high volume kitchen
- Knowledge of jewish american, ashkenazi, sephardic, eastern european and levantine cuisines is a plus but not a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, train, inspire and mentor a collaborative and professional kitchen team
- Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and accountability across BOH
- Foster a positive and professional work environment
Menu & Culinary Development
- Collaborate with ownership on seasonal, holiday and catering menus
- Ensure consistency, quality, and execution of all dishes
- Manage recipe testing, costing, and COGS tracking for all menu items
Kitchen Operations & Efficiency
- Oversee inventory and ordering
- Manage food and labor costs, kitchen budgets, and waste reduction
- Ensure kitchen organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety standards
- Maintain deep-cleaning and equipment maintenance schedules
Quality & Service
- Actively support smooth service in coordination with FOH
- Be a visible leader during service, open to guest feedback and engagement
Administrative & Strategic
- Attend weekly manager meetings
- Track and report on kitchen metrics: labor, COGS, efficiency
- Align culinary goals with broader business objectives
Compensation: Salary ($80,000.00 - $85,000.00)
