A little about our position.....

Our newest gourmet location in Sayville, NY is actively seeking a FT Catering Manager for its in-store Catering Team. Our Catering Managers are responsible for supervising the department team and ensuring a successful catering operation.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises catering logistics and operations.
• Receives orders from customers via in person or phone conversation, confirming all food items are double checked for accuracy.
• Ensures that all proposals, contacts, menus, correspondence and reports are completed according to Uncle Giuseppes procedures.
• Event planning and menu design.
• Booking outside vendors for items such as equipment rentals, wait staff and other resources needed for each event.
• Will be responsible for processing online orders.
• Ensuring payments are received.
• Coordinate pick-up and delivery schedule.
• Assist catering manager with clerical needs.
• Assist in setting up and managing in store demonstrations.
• Will assist with deliveries of catered ordered and events as needed.
• Respond to customer complaints immediately or in a timely fashion.
• Develop relationships with customers.
• Process weekly gratuities.
• Other duties and functions as assigned.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3-4 years of experience working in a management position in catering, event planning or event management.
• Must be proficient with relevant computer programs and operations including MS Office Suite.
• Must be familiar with food and beverage cost controls.
• Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure.
• Able to multi-task in a very fast paced environment and delegate tasks as needed.
• Highly motivated to learn and not afraid to make quick decisions.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language.
• During the high season, extended hours, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
• May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
• Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
• There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
