L Auberge Proven ale, situated in the beautiful Virginia countryside, is looking for a creative and responsible team player to join our kitchen as Sous Chef! We are an award-winning fine dining French restaurant as well as a boutique style inn and have been in the business over 40 years. Our team of professionals is a close-knit group that feels like family, and we would be thrilled to add another passionate individual who enjoys having fun at work, especially in the kitchen.

We are a farm-to-table restaurant, growing many of our own vegetables and herbs, and have an orchard on property with various seasonal fruits. We work closely with local farms to procure the freshest and best ingredients for our ever-evolving menus, which include a five course Chef s Prix Fixe and the more casual a la carte. Working alongside the Executive Chef Alex Sakelakos, the Sous Chef would be a sounding board to his creative energies while having the vision to bring new ideas to the kitchen. If you think outside the box, areanized, fast paced and eager to be creative, we are looking for you! This job has the opportunity for advancement.

The Sous Chef should have knowledge of all modern as well as classic cooking styles and have a passion to be cutting edge and inventive. We change our menus seasonally and whimsically depending on the best products available. We are looking for a long-term team player with a pleasant, dedicated, and positive approach to the job. Some other ideal qualifications would include:

- The ability to develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand

- Assisting with the planning and preparation of meal designs

- Providing support to kitchen employees including line cooking, food preparation and dish plating

- Keeping the kitchen safe and sanitary

- Constantly improving food preparation methods based on the Executive Chef's feedback
