Cafe Santorini is a busy, quality-driven kitchen known for fresh ingredients and exceptional dishes. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our team and ensure our chefs have everything they need for a smooth and efficient service.

Job Summary: The Prep Cook is responsible for completing daily preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready, portioned, and stored properly for use during service. This position is essential for maintaining kitchen flow and supporting the culinary team in delivering high-quality dishes.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion vegetables, fruits, meats, and seafood according to recipes.

  • Prepare sauces, marinades, dressings, and other components in advance of service.

  • Label, date, and store all prepared items following food safety and FIFO guidelines.

  • Measure and portion ingredients for recipes and daily specials.

  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, verifying quality and quantity.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including prep tables, cutting boards, and storage areas.

  • Follow chef instructions and adhere to standardized recipes for consistency.

  • Dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with restaurant policy.

Requirements:

  • Previous kitchen or prep experience required.

  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment.

  • Ability to work efficiently and follow directions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays.
