Prep Cook Duties and Responsibilities:
Display a working knowledge of all ingredients and preparation used on the menu.
Measures ingredients & seasonings, prepares cooking ingredients for service.
Consistently ensure that station mise en place is prepped, seasoned, and stocked prior service and overall station remains clean and organized.
Undertakes basic cooking duties such as monitoring stock levels, reducing sauces, preparing salsa and dips.
Ensures all food and other items are stored properly and tagged, date-labeled, covered, and rotated effectively.
Complies with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
Supervises food and cooling room temperatures.
Works efficiently with kitchen team members and complies with company procedures and food safety standards.
Supports the team (Hospitality and Kitchen) whenever needed (e.g., callouts, catering, etc.)
Has intimate knowledge of Department of Health standards and uses them as a guide to keep kitchen spaces tidy.
Qualifications and Requirements:
2+ years of experience as prep cook in an upscale casual restaurant kitchen
Safe Serve Food Handlers License
Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
Ability to carry up to 25lb
English fluency
Ability to work evening, weekends and holidays
