Job Description

Qualifications and abilities that are advantageous to the successful candidacy and consideration for an interview include but are not limited to the following:

  • Degree from accredited culinary school
  • Coordination of Daily Menus, meal planning and preferences 
  • Spontaneity - Ability to increase / decrease quantity of diners and menu preferences 
  • Supply procurement and provisioning - sourcing of only the freshest and select grade ingredients for farm to table cuisine including local and organic products, in-season vegetables, fruits and regional specialty items
  • Conventional grocery shopping, procurement and provisioning of typical items and consumables 
  • Sommelier wine experience and knowledge 
  • Baking Expertise 
  • Ability to adapt to varying dietary needs such as Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, keto, high fiber, high protein
  • Green House Knowledge and knowledge of onsite production of herbs and vegetables
  • Highest level of cleanliness, hygiene and practiced food handling protocol required and is mandatory and obligatory 
  • Event planner support for holidays, social gatherings, family holiday parties and philanthropic events 
  • Excellent references from both current and previous employers 
  • Experience working as a Chef in a private residence 
  • Able to communicate clearly in English - French is advantageous 
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal and electronic 
  • Capable of table setting with style and customary precision 
  • Cautious care for precious silver, china and kitchen / Dining collectables 
  • Table linen organization and seasonal management 
  • Computer literate - Apple platform 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to professional responsibilities 
  • Acceptance of two friendly dogs 
  • Valid drivers license - Driving will be required for this position of employer provided vehicle 
  • Social Security Number and Drivers License disclosure required as a prerequisite to the scheduling of an interview
  • Background Check is a prerequisite to employment
  • Enrollment in special food preparation classes as requested by employer to learn new cooking techniques 
  • Confidentiality - Employer expects that the employee maintain the utmost and highest level and standards of discretion and confidentiality 
  • Fiscal management of all expenses related to the aforementioned duties and accountability for kitchen budget and expenses 
  • Interaction with other residential staff and performance of tasks related to the management of the household are inclusive of the offering
  • Demeanor and Character - Attitude is everything. Elevated ego and self aggrandizement will hinder initial employment consideration. Upbeat, positive without edge 
  • Non Smoker 
  • Fair and considerate employer requires service on occasional late evenings, holidays and weekend
