Job Description

Broad Street Baking Company ( is a single-location bakery/deli/cafe located in Jackson, MS, which did $3.3 million in total revenue in 2016, of that $710,000 was direct pastry and bakery sales. Broad Street was started by Chef Dan Blumenthal and Jeff Good in 1998, two successful Jackson restauranteurs who had previously opened BRAVO! restaurant in Jackson in 1993 ( and most recently opened Sal & Mookie's New York Pizza Joint and Ice Cream Parlor in 2007 ( The Broad Street concept has its history in the fact that Dan's grandfather was a third-generation baker who owned several bakeries on Broad Street in Trenton, NJ between 1940 and 1960. Broad Street sells European-style breads and a full line of breakfast pastries, cookies, cakes, pies, bars, etc., Revenue centers  include in-house bread baking for sandwich sales, house accounts that include  Broad Street's "sister" restaurants and catering.  

Co-Owners Blumenthal and Good are currently looking for a person with unique pastry production and management abilities to oversee their entire pastry & bread operation with the usual Chef job responsibilities required: hiring & firing, payroll, scheduling, employee reviews, recipe creatioin, menu creation, equipment maintenance, ordering, inventory control and food cost control.
