POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Executive Chef will execute the production of all desserts and bakery goods. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Checks with Executive Chef for daily objectives. Prepares all desserts needed for pastry production. Prepares all pre-plated desserts for banquet and a la carte service. Assists chef with new ideas and presentations. Inspects quality of food items used to prepare desserts and baked goods. Informs Executive Chef when quality is not acceptable Requirements Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit. Baking and Pastry Arts degree preferred, but not required. 3 years experience in hotel/restaurant. Works well independently and strong organizational skills. Sanitation Certificate preferred. Technical Requirements: Must live in the local area or within commuting distance. Job DutiesResponsible for the day to day operation of all pastry production and service within the Food and Beverage Department.  Assists the Executive Pastry Chef in hiring, training, counseling, evaluating and scheduling the pastry line staff.  Performs other related duties as assigned.  Promotes superior customer service.Minimum QualificationsMust possess three years experience as a Pastry Cook in an upscale culinary operation.  Must possess two years experience at a supervisory level.  An Associates degree and/or two years culinary degree is required, however, in lieu of a college degree, three years of fine dining or banquet culinary experience will be accepted.  Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment.  Must possess experience in Food and Beverage administration planning, budgeting and cost analysis.  Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
