The International Culinary School which is associated with The Art Institutes in Hollywood is looking for part-time instructors to teach in the Culinary Arts program for courses in baking and pastry. The succesful candidate will be teaching in Introduction to Baking and Introduction to Pastry courses. Topics to include yeast breads and rolls, cut-in dough, cakes, quick breads, laminated doughs, and custards, sponges, frozen desserts and plated desserts
Our classroom sizes are small, and our labs include the latest in technology. Preparing academic curriculum and developing lesson plans is an important part of this position.
Lecture classes are 3 hours in length and lab classes are 5 hours in length, both run for 11 weeks. Classes may be scheduled for Monday to Saturday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm (morning/afternoon classes) or evenings.
Candidates must have a Bachelors degree culinary arts or related disciplines from a regionally accredited university or college. A Masters degree is preferred.
Candidates must be ServSafe certicate holders.
Candidates must have strong and in-depth industry experience. Minimum experience level is 3 years in the food/hospitality industry.
Previous experience in teaching at a post secondary school environment or training is highly desirable.
CWPC or CEPC and/or CCE certified.
Should be able to lift 50 lbs (as that is the size of a flour/sugar bag)

Adhere to and publicly support school policies and procedures, included but not limited to the faculty handbook, and catalog.
Attend graduation ceremonies.

Required Skills
Documented expertise in fundamental baking skills and the theoretical knowledge that underlies competency in the field.
Documented expertise in baking and pastry preparation with elements of plated desserts, international creations, and centerpieces.
Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills, as demonstrated by data sheet, diplomas, degrees, transcripts, certifications, CVs/Resumes, and in personal interview.
